MA in Applied Irish, School of Languages, Dublin Institute of Technology, in conjunction with Gaelchultúr Teoranta.
Applications are now invited for the part-time, two year course MA sa Ghaeilge Fheidhmeach/ MA in Applied Irish. The programme was offered for the first time in January 2008 and the next course will commence in early February 2011. The deadline for applications for the 2011 course is 22 September 2010. Conradh na Gaeilge Celebrate Culture Night
Culture Night will take place on Friday, 24th September 2010. Many cultural events will take place in various venues all over the capital city.
Events include traditional music sessions, dancing, poetry readings, drama, art exhibitions in various galleries in Temple Bar in the heart of the city plus historic tours in the National Museum of Ireland and other locations.

Cois Teallaigh Conversational Irish Language Groups
In a fortnight Comhdháil Náisiúnta na Gaeilge intend to get Dublin city talking as Gaeilge by facilitating Irish Language Conversational groups every Monday this autumn.
Beginning on Monday 20 September 2010, the group will meet together every Monday evening for eight weeks in ‘Cois Teallaigh’ in the basement of 46 Kildare Street.

The Irish language – Opportunities at home and abroad

Cultúrlann Uí Chanáin one year old
Cultúrlann Uí Chanáin is celebrating this week, on this its first birthday. The Irish language community in Derry city was highly praised when Cultúrlann Uí Chanáin was opened, after a huge overhaul of the Gaeláras building on Great James Street. The Minister Ó Cuív, as well as the Northern Education minister, Caitríona Ruane, were amongst those at the official opening on 4th September 2009.

Cork City Council proposes to draft its second Irish Language Scheme in accordance with Section 11 of the Official Languages Act 2003. The primary objective of the Act is to ensure better availability and a higher standard of public services through Irish.
